Executive Programs for Organizations

Executive Programs for Organizations

For over 25 years, the SIPA Picker Center for Executive Education has designed and delivered highly effective, innovative, and engaging custom programs, seminars, and conferences for organizations in over 40 countries around the world—from training and advising diplomats, executives, and policymakers at the United Nations, the World Bank, other and international organizations, to Fortune 500 companies, government ministries, and local agencies. We also provide research and technical assistance to public and not-for-profit agencies seeking to improve their current programs, to develop new initiatives, and to evaluate organizational performance.

Our world-renowned scholars and practitioners bring unrivaled expertise, cutting-edge research, and real-world experience to the classroom, so participants learn directly from those on the ground actively engaged in informing and shaping policy around critical global issues.

The interactive and experiential format of our programs effectively combines theory with practice to prepare leaders with the in-depth knowledge, innovative thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills to successfully navigate complex and rapidly evolving challenges and drive transformative change within their organizations to address the most critical global policy issues of today.

Upon completion of the program, participants receive a Certificate of Participation and become members of our distinguished Alumni Community.

Program Customization

The Columbia SIPA Picker Center’s executive training programs are customized to address the specific needs of mid-level and senior executives from countries and organizations around the world. We will work in partnership with your team to codesign and deliver learning experiences that are built around your unique goals to advance your mission and transform individual leaders and organizations.

The Center’s collaborative approach to designing our customized programs begins with conducting an initial needs assessment based on consultations and interviews with key stakeholders, including a review of organizational competencies and challenges. The director, faculty chair, and program manager partner with your organization throughout the entire design and delivery process, including on the development of the program curriculum, content, and structure.

Courses can be delivered through a range of in-person, virtual, asynchronous, and blended formats, and in-person programs can be held on Columbia University’s Morningside campus, on-location at your organization, or another location of your choice. Simultaneous translation services are also available upon request.

Instructional methodologies often include highly interactive classroom sessions, original case studies, simulations, feedback-intensive group exercises, peer coaching, industry panels, action learning projects, leadership assessments, and site visits. Through project work and the in-depth analysis of case studies, participants gain real-world practice applying what they’ve learned throughout the duration of the course to solve current challenges, with defined, value-added takeaways.

Upon conclusion of the program, an evaluation is performed to assess outcomes and gain feedback, which is used to identify areas for improvement and make adjustments to future programming. Through project and performance-based outcomes directly tied to your organizational goals, our programs are able to demonstrate a significant return on investment in support of your mission.
