Saeed graduated from the University of Maryland with a Chemical Engineering degree in 2017. As student, Saeed's passion and energy were directed toward community service and social work. In the United States, he was part of a variety of nonprofit organizations and in some he was in a leadership position. After coming back to Saudi and working for SABIC for 4 years as an operation engineer, he made the decision to switch his career to what he is truly passionate about, which is community building and social service. In 2017, he worked as a barista in a local coffeeshop as a part timer, alongside his full-time job as an engineer. This job gave him the chance to empower youth and be more involved in my community. In 2021, he opened his own business and dedicated it to community engagement and social dialogue with positive social impact in the topics related to: Sustainability, youth empowerment, women empowerment, mental wellness, and positive social impact. Saeed got accepted to join Columbia for Fall 2022 to get his master degree in Political and Economical Development, he was also selected in the same year to represent Saudi Arabia’s youth in the Y20 summit in July. It took him some time to rediscover my passion and who he is, but he is forever grateful for Saudi and the leaders around me who enabled him to become who he is today. An individual with hope and energy to serve.
