Personal Details

Robert Boccio is currently a Trustee of the Incorporated Village of Lynbrook located in Nassau County, New York. He was appointed Trustee on the Village Board in December of 2017 and was formally elected in March of 2018 in a special election. In March of 2019, Mr. Boccio was re-elected to a full 4-year term. As a Village Trustee, he represents nearly 20,000 residents and is responsible, along with the Board, for overseeing the Village’s administration, police force, court system, operational services, as well as finances including an approximate $45 million operating budget. 

In addition, Mr. Boccio is a partner with a mid-size law firm, where he specializes in defending clients in medical malpractice actions, nursing home cases, municipal matters, as well as pharmaceutical and product-defect related claims. His clients include major hospitals, large world-class healthcare systems, and renowned physicians, which he represents in federal, state, and local court actions.

Prior to being a Trustee and becoming a partner at his present law firm, Mr. Boccio served for many years as a Lynbrook Assistant Village Prosecutor, was the former Chairman of the Lynbrook Board of Zoning Appeals, and was the Chairman of the Village’s Ethics Committee. Additionally, Mr. Boccio has held several other management roles within New York City government, including successfully running one of the City’s long-term juvenile detention centers, and he has also worked at the Mayor’s Office of Operations, NYC Economic Development Corporation, and NYC Department of Finance. Moreover, he was an Assistant Corporation Counsel at the New York City Law Department, where he represented the City in Commercial Litigation matters.  

Additionally, Mr. Boccio has been an active supporter of many of his village’s youth athletic programs and has especially enjoyed coaching for the Lynbrook Titans Football organization, as well as the Lynbrook-East Rockaway Little League. 

Mr. Boccio holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & English from New York University, a Master of Public Administration degree from Columbia University School of International & Public Affairs, as well as a Juris Doctor from New York Law School, where he was an NYLS Scholar and Picker Public Service Fellow.
