Mariya Katsman is currently a second-year MIA candidate studying International Security Policy and International Conflict Resolution with interest in technology and the relationship between the information space and conflict. Mariya is originally from Ukraine, Kharkiv, but she moved to California in 2015 where she attended UC Berkeley and earned a BA degree in Global Studies: Peace and Conflict with Middle Eastern Studies concentration. Mariya's background is in advocacy and open-source investigations, including human rights abuse and smuggling cases. While at SIPA, Mariya is a Co-President of the Conflict Resolution Collective and a President of the CU Ukrainian Club.
