Leigh (she/her/hers) is a first year Master of International Affairs student concentrating in Economic and Political Development with a specialization in Leadership, Innovation, and Design. Prior to SIPA, she studied Global Public Health, Mathematical Statistics, and Global Sustainability at the University of Virginia. During her undergraduate studies, she interned at the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction in Cavite, Philippines, Operation Smile, SEWA Bharat, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Her research and professional interests lie at the intersections of environmental sustainability, urban planning and infrastructure, and global health. At SIPA, she is involved in the Global Health Association as the treasurer. As a 2022 Donald M. Payne International Development Fellow, she will enter the U.S. Agency for International Development’s foreign service as a Program or Environment Officer after graduating from SIPA. In her free time, Leigh enjoys staying active, exploring cafes and restaurants in New York, and going to the beach.
