Elana Broitman is an experienced policy professional, having served in senior positions in government, nonprofits and the technology sector.  Elana currently leads Jewish Federations of North America's government and community relations as Senior Vice President of Public Affairs.  She has also served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Manufacturing and Industrial Base Policy at the Defense Department, where she was responsible for the defense industrial base and represented the Department on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). Before her role at the Pentagon, Elana spent over a decade in Congress, serving as Senior Adviser to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, and prior to that as Counsel to the House International Relations Committee. Elana had previously served in the Clinton Administration as Senior Rule of Law Advisor to the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Europe and Newly Independent States.  In the technology arena, Elana has been one of the early leaders in domain name policy where she was responsible for establishing global policy and launching one of the first domain name addresses.  In her free time, Elana find time to draw and paint, travel and spend time with her family.
