Ambassador Amina Mohamed is currently the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Kenya to the WTO, the UN and other international organizations in Geneva.  She is the Chair of the WTO General Council in since February 2005.

Ambassador Mohamed's work experience covers a broad range of subjects, including drafting of by-laws at the level of the local and regional government in Kenya, working in the legal division of the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and working as legal adviser to the attorney general of the Kenyan government. Ambassador Mohamed has served at the Permanent Mission of Kenya to the UN in New York. She has also chaired the WTO's Dispute Settlement Body and Trade Policy Review Body.

Ambassador Mohamed studied law at the Kenyan Law School, Kiev State University and Keble College Oxford. She was an International Law Fellow at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
