The UN Studies Working Group supports the Human Rights Working Group in: "Freeze-In" to Protest Modern Day Slavery

Join SIPA's Human Rights Working Group as we bring together cross-disciplinary
undergraduate and graduate students from Columbia University, local high schools, and faith-based organizations to participate in a "freeze-in" event as a public demonstration to raise awareness about modern-day slavery. The projected participation from schools within the United States on April 2nd is estimated to be between 20-30 schools.
The "freeze-in" is a form of improvisational street performance. We will freeze in place at 12:20PM for 3 minutes. After the 3 minutes we will "unfreeze" and distribute educational literature, informing viewers about modern-day slavery and human trafficking.
There will be an informational/training session held on Wednesday, April 1 at Noon in Room 418IAB in order to learn more about this event. For more information please contact: Wendy Carlson at wlc2108@columbia.edu.

short speech during the final General Meeting of the semester which
will take place on December 3rd. The online voting process will start
the day after.
