The SIPA Curriculum

Students at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) are trained to become leaders across all sectors of the global economy. The SIPA student body is comprised of highly accomplished and talented individuals from over 100 countries. Students who study finance at SIPA not only have the analytical and quantitative skills the marketplace demands, but also understand the importance and interrelationship between politics, financial systems, and regulatory policy.

Recognizing that a large portion of the student body exhibits a deep interest in establishing careers within finance, the SIPA course offerings include a wide array of financial areas of focus. SIPA students can choose amongst courses such as Advanced Structured Credit, Emerging Financial Markets, International Banking, International Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, and a lot more. These courses are taught by reputed academics and industry practitioners with long-standing experience who bring their wealth of knowledge and awareness to bear through a rigorous set of lectures, assignments and workshops.
