Mission
The mission of JASSA is:
- To establish a mutually-beneficial friendship between Japanese students and students from other countries by introducing Japanese politics, economy, history and culture.
- To provide information for recruiting and internships to students seeking job opportunities in Japan.
- To assist students in their study of Japanese language.
- To increase the level of interest and awareness of Japan in the greater Columbia University community
Dr. Gerald Curtis, Burgess Professor of Political Science at Columbia University, serves as the adviser. We welcome all students, Columbia affiliates, non-Columbians who are interested in Japanese affairs, regardless of Japanese Language skills. Apart from on-campus lectures, we are also planning events in Japan as well, so alumni in Japan, please feel free to contact us. We hope to see you all at one of our many events!
