Mission Statement

The African Affairs Network is a multidisciplinary organization at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs that is available to assist organizations throughout the world working toward increased African development.  Its members represent graduate students from a variety of disciplines (economic and political development; economic policy; economic and environmental, and security policy; as well as human rights and media) and represent a number of African, European, Asian and American countries.

Recent Events:

Our forum on "US Foreign Policy Towards Africa & the Way Forward" was an overwhelming success.  We would like to extend a thank you to our panelists:  Salih Booker, Emira Woods and Mahmood Mamdani.  More than 70 attendees gathered to focus on US Foreign Policy and Africa.  Thanks to all!!
