Student Organization Special Event Grants

SIPA student groups consistently offer high quality, interesting, and thought-provoking events. However, we realize the budget constraints that make it a challenge to find funding. OSA can provide an Event Funding Grant not exceeding $1000.00 to a student organization, provided they have made an effort to seek out other sources of funding from the University. This grant is designed to be a stopgap, rather than a primary source of event funding.

Please be advised of the following eligibility and application requirements:

• Demonstrate the potential impact of the event on SIPA and the Columbia University community at large;
• Provide a reasonable timeline;
• Provide a detailed and itemized budget;
• A demonstration of financial need, including the group’s other budgetary allocations;
• Completion of an application;
• Only one allocation per any particular student organization during a two-year period.
