Career Resources
This section contains an extensive listing of useful web links divided by functional area or sector, and a section on general career resources. There are fact sheets on topics ranging from interviewing and résumé writing to career opportunities in different sectors. You can also view sample résumés and download Career Information Packets by concentration. We have also listed all the services that the office provides to alumni.
Alumni Career Advisory Program (ACAP)
ACAP is a database of SIPA alumni, representing diverse career fields, who have offered to share their career experience with alumni.
Available fact sheets include Cover letter and Résumé tips, Interview Preparation Tips, Executive Recruiters, OCS Resources by Concentration, Resources and Services for Alumni, Temporary Employment Agencies, Down at Our Nation's Capital and many more!
Individual Career Counseling
Available by appointment. Services range from career planning issues to job-search strategy and mock interviews.
Resource Room
Located in Room 420, resources include fact sheets covering information on résumés, cover letters, interviewing and more, as well as 123 published references, resource guides, and periodicals relevant to the job search in international and public affairs.
The following résumé supplements may be sent out with your resume and cover letter to potential employers to assist you in marketing your degree and concentration to relevant employers.
