Career Events
Career Panels and Workshops
Throughout the academic year, OCS sponsors a number of career panels in which alumni and other professionals speak about selected fields. OCS also conducts numerous career-related workshops. Topics include Resume Writing, Developing Sound Interviewing Skills and Domestic and International Job Search Strategies. By participating in these programs, you greatly contribute to keeping SIPA students aware of the nature of the current job market and what they can expect after graduation. This helps students approach the job search from an informed, knowledgeable position, which in turn helps to improve the public perception of the SIPA degree. If you are interested in being involved in career panels and workshops, please contact the Manager of Career events and Alumni Relations.
Annual Career Conferences
During winter and spring break, OCS sponsors two career conferences, which consist of career presentations, an alumni reception and informational interviews with professionals in Washington DC and New York City. These conferences provide opportunities for you to meet bright and talented SIPA students and share knowledge of your career field, which is valuable to our student body. Your willingness to give career advice to current students is greatly appreciated. As part of the conference, you may serve on a career panel, attend a student-alumni-employer reception and/or conduct informational interviews. This is an excellent way to network with alumni and employers in the DC and NYC areas.
