SIPA Smart Cart 503 Online Training

Welcome to Smart Cart 503 training. If you have signed up to use Room 407 International Affairs, please review these training pages before your scheduled training with a SIPA staff member.
1. To begin, you must unlock the podium as illustrated below. Make sure that you press on the circular button and that the mechanism flips up, otherwise the podium door cannot be opened.
2. The computer tower and multi-standard VCR are located in this cabinet. The keyboard is located in a rolling drawer on the right side of the e-podium. Once you have turned the computer on, pull out the keyboard as indicated in the photo below. When the login screen appears, type in the user name: sipaav and select the OK button. No password is necessary to login.
3. Next, the projector lid must be unlocked and lifted as shown.
4. To turn on the projector, use the remote control found in the cabinet (with the computer tower and the VCR). Make sure the remote is aimed at the projector, otherwise it will not turn on.
5. Once the projector is running, adjust the angle of the lid until the projection on the screen reaches the desired level.
6. The computer also has a DVD player (located in the computer tower), and it is internet-ready. To connect to the web, simply double click on the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop. To use a laptop instead of the SmartCart computer, you must attach the blue cable pictured below to your laptop. Sound and internet connectivity are also available with the laptop. Simply connect the internet cable (on the far right side) and the sound cable (on the far left side) of the SmartCart to the corresponding section of your laptop. To turn on the projector, follow the directions already outlined above.
