1401 SIPA is a lecture room with seating for 44 students and can handle most multimedia applications. The instructor's equipment is enclosed in a stationary wood cabinet. The projector is mounted on the ceiling. Video is displayed on a screen at the front of the room.

SIPA has developed a new, easy-to-use electronic podium, the ePodium, which provides convenient control over all the computing and audiovisual capabilities in an electronic classroom. Combined with high-quality projection and audio equipment, the ePodium makes it easy for faculty to present DVD, VCR, or audio CD material, as well as PowerPoint presentations, Web pages, and audio / video streaming media, using either the built-in computer or the faculty member's laptop.

The SIPA ePodium has an Extron control system to manage the equipment in the classrooms. Most features of the ePodium can be controlled with simple, one-touch operations. A new furniture design provides convenient access to the electronic equipment and has additional flat surfaces to accommodate a laptop, papers, and books.
