6/29/11 D.C.: Policy Forum at the University Club of Washington, D.C.

You are invited to a SIPA Policy Forum evening lecture and reception with Robert Kopech (MBA/MIA ’77), Group Chief Risk Officer for The World Bank. 5/25/11 Houston, Texas: “A Modern Mystery: Will China Incorporate Tibet?”

4/21/11 NYC: SIPA Women in Leadership Student/Alumni Networking Night
SIPA Women in Leadership is hosting an exclusive networking night with fellow students and alumni working across all fields, politics, and interests. The event is free but registration is required. 4/16/11 NYC: The Third Annual SIPA Alumni Day
The annual SIPA Alumni Day will be held on the Columbia Campus on Saturday, April 16, 2011. Topics for discussion include whether President Obama will be a one-term president, US and China trade, Afghanistan and the “end game,” and flashpoints on Iran, Tunisia, and Egypt. The day will conclude with a lunch with our keynote speaker, Susie Gharib, anchor of PBS’ Nightly Business Report. The cost to attend the event is $55 ($40 for graduates in nonprofit/public sectors). Join President Lee C. Bollinger, distinguished faculty, alumni, and current students to discuss what’s next for the global press, health care policy, and Columbia on Saturday, April 2, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.. 4/1/11 NYC: Columbia University Energy Symposium 2011
The SIPA Energy Association and the Columbia Business School Energy Club invite you to attend the 6th Annual Columbia University Energy Symposium, entitled Shaping the Future of Energy Through Finance, Policy, and Science. The Symposium will be held at Low Library on the Columbia Campus from 8:30am – 4:30pm, and will feature panels on the Evolution of the Grid, Financing the Future of Energy, and Shifting Patterns in Oil and Gas Markets, in addition to an Emerging Energy Technology Showcase. 3/1/11 NYC: A Rolling Stone Conversation at Columbia Journalism School

Interested in learning more about the CIA’s National Clandestine Service (NCS)? 2/18/11 DC: Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Informational Seminar
SIPA alumni are invited to attend this seminar at the IDB’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. on February 18, from 1:00pm-6:00pm. The seminar is intended to give participants an introduction to the mission and work of the Bank with some specific areas and programs highlighted. Although there will be a session on employment and internship opportunities at the IDB, the event is not a job fair. The event is free, but participants must register here by February 15.


2/17/11 NYC: Economic and Political Development, Human Rights, Urban and Social Policy Alumni & Student Reception

International Fellows are invited to a reception that will kick off a year-long celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the International Fellows Program. Professor Richard Gardner, one of the founding faculty members of the International Fellows Program, will address the Fellows.
