First-Ever SIPA Salon Focuses on Inequality

A new series sponsored by the SIPA Alumni Council, SIPA Salon, kicked off in New York on June 20th with a discussion focusing on Inequality in America, featuring Professor Dorian Warren. The goal of SIPA Salon is to bring faculty members together with alumni in a small setting to discuss and debate an important topic. Based on the ovewhelming positive response from those who attended, look for future salons in New York and other cities in the future.

Himalayan Nation of Bhutan
Welcomes SIPA Visitors

A recent confluence of opportunities brought four members of the SIPA community to Bhutan at the same time in late May and early June. Rebecca Chao MIA ’12 and returning MIA student Ethan Wagner presented findings on information transparency to Bhutan’s government; Professor Anya Schiffrin taught a media education workshop; and Professor Joseph Stiglitz sat on a UN-sponsored panel.
