Back to Students, Faculty and Alumni Interviews and Biographies
Muhammad Jamil Nasir is a graduate of the PEPM Class of 2010. He is currently working in the World Bank in Washington, D.C.
What did you like most about PEPM?
PEPM has really been a rewarding experience for me. The marriage between theory and practice was the hallmark of the Program. PEPM was mainly focused on up-to-date knowledge of theoretical foundations of economic policy and its management.
How did PEPM and your internship help you?
It, however, equipped me with analytical skills required for the analysis of various economic policy choices in terms of cost-benefit analysis. As regards my internship at the World Bank, I think it was a test to applying skills and theories learnt in the class. Succinctly speaking, my experience of internship with the World Bank was productive from three broad angles.
What did PEPM provide you with?
One, it provided me with an opportunity to apply the tools and analytical skills to real-life situations. Second, I was exposed to a working environment marked by cultural diversity and competitiveness, which served to broaden my horizon and accentuated a desire in me to excel in challenging situations. Third, my stay at the World Bank provided me opportunity to further hone my skills thanks to face-to-face training programs and e-learning training modules exclusively available at the World Bank.
