Seeking Solutions: Energy and the Environment
SIPA’s expanded focus on energy and sustainability is bringing global leaders in energy policy to New York. In the latest SIPA Leaders in Global Energy lecture, Andris Piebalgs, European Union Development Commissioner, presented Europe's ambitious approach to energy sustainability and international development. SIPA will next host Carlos Tavares, Executive Vice President of Nissan's American operations, on Friday, November 5, for a discussion of electric vehicles.

The series coincides with the school's launch of a study track in sustainable energy policy. Also this month, faculty and researchers took part in the unveiling of a new World Bank framework for analyzing energy efficiency opportunities in developing country cities. More
