Adjunct professor Claudia Dreifus calls the details of the Penn State scandal awful, “…but I’d like to see more coverage about how scandal - child abuse, sex, money - is endemic to semi-pro college sports. It’s a corruption machine.”
Professor Dreifus is co-author of Higher Education? How Colleges Are Wasting Our Money and Failing Our Kids and What We Can Do About It, where she devotes a chapter to the myths and realities of college athletics.

Professor Stephen Sestanovich stresses that context is key: “Most Russian leaders are responding to what they see as the mistakes of their predecessors.”

Photo by Mynor Godoy (MIA '12).
Mynor interned last summer with Fundación Mi Sangre in Medellin, Colombia. Fundación Mi Sangre is an arts-based nonprofit begun by Colombian musician Juanes. Its mission is to help victims of landmines and internally displaced people in the cities of Colombia.
"Mi Sangre was a fusion of all the things I was passionate about: education, at-risk youth, community advocacy, and art. They were in the process of launching a new program known as “Pazalobien” and they wanted me to assist with their research on the role art can play in the construction of peace."
