NBC’s Chuck Todd to Host SIPA’s Global Leadership Awards
NBC News’ Chief White House Correspondent Chuck Todd will emcee SIPA’s annual Global Leadership Awards Dinner on April 14. Honorees include former Fed chairman Paul Volcker; WITNESS, an international nonprofit that trains citizens to use video to shed light on human rights abuses; and SIPA alumnus Mitchell Silber (MIA ’05), who leads a counterterrorism team in the NYPD’s Intelligence Division.

TARP Investment Chief Says U.S. Investments Face Ongoing Risk
David Miller, chief investment officer for the U.S. Treasury’s Troubled Asset Relief Program, delivered SIPA’s latest Investcorp lecture on February 25. He said, “While much work remains, and there is considerable market risk to these investments, we anticipate the cost of this program will be negligible and merely a fraction of what was initially estimated.” SIPA’s Investcorp lectures examine trends in international finance and business policy.

SIPA Students Flex Their Skills on Public Policy Issues
In a SIPA signature event, 30 students squared off for the School’s Public Policy Case Competition. Ten teams tackled international and domestic problems and tested their presentation skills before top management professionals and development experts. The challenges involved the delivery of military benefits and predicting famines in Sudan.
