Bandana Rana: Gender and Media in South Asia

Bandana Rana, a UNIFEM expert and the president of SAATHI, a non-governmental organization that focuses on the challenges facing Nepali women, addressed students from SIPA’s Human Rights concentration. Rana is the regional coordinator of South Asian Campaign for Gender Equality (SACGE). She worked as news editor/presenter for Nepal Television, served on the board of directors of Radio Nepal and Press Council Nepal, and founded Sancharika Samuha (Forum of Women in Media).
