Alumnus Recognized for Customs Innovations in Thailand
Kurkrit Chaisirikul (MPA '08) has been awarded the Thailand Ministry of Finance Innovation Award. Chaisirikul serves as Customs Technical Officer with the Royal Thai Customs. He was recognized for his work in developing a comprehensive system of parallel risk management via a Web-based application called “e-Risk.”
“eRisk” is a dual-track risk management system utilized by Thai importers and exporters before they begin the clearance process, and by customs officers to identify each manifest’s point of inspection. The system has improved the speed and efficiency of the customs administration, and helps importers/exporters reduce the risk of losses due to incorrect or unknown customs processes.
The Ministry of Finance Innovation awards are intended to promote and encourage the development of quality government services in Thailand.
