Bhagwati was also named a National Research Professor by the government of India. This prestigious professorship was instituted in 1949 and honors only a select few extraordinarily distinguished scholars.
▪ Bentley MacLeod, Sami Mnaymneh Professor of Economics and Professor of International and Public Affairs, has been elected a Fellow of the Society of Labor Economists. This prestigious fellowship is awarded to those who have made contributions of unusual distinction in the field of labor economics.
