Karin Vazquez, MIA '12

 

Karin Vazquez

Karin Vazquez has sound experience in strategic management and international cooperation for development. Currently, Karin is a South-South Cooperation consultant with the World Bank and the United Nations, where she supports strategies and partnerships for middle-income countries to share development solutions in a more structured and effective way. Previously, Karin managed a $10 million UK fund for economic and environmental cooperation programs in Brazil. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Karin facilitated technical cooperation initiatives with African, Latin American, and Caribbean countries. Karin actively collaborates with communities of practice in South-South Cooperation and leads an online network of over 130 development practitioners globally. In 2012, Karin completed her studies in economic and political development with a specialization in management at Columbia University.

Jorge Paulo Lemann

Jorge Paulo Lemann co-founded the investment banking firm Banco Garantia and helped grow it into one of Brazil’s most prestigious and innovative investment banks. Lemann and his partners then purchased a Brazilian brewery that became InBev, one of the world’s largest beverage producers.
