Lian Lin, MIA '11

Lian Lian

Lian Lin concentrated in International Finance and Economic Policy with a specialization in Advanced Policy and Economic Analysis at SIPA. Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, he graduated in 2009 with Honors from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan with a dual degree in International Relations and Economics and a specialization in Political Economy. During college, he spent two summer semesters in Chinese Taipei studying Mandarin at the National Chengchi University. He has worked at the Organization of American States, the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association, the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington, D.C., and at Garten Rothkopf and Standard & Poor’s in New York, NY. At SIPA, he was an editorial assistant for the Journal of International Affairs and was selected for a Capstone Workshop on impact investments in Latin America for the Inter-American Development Bank during the spring 2011 semester. He is currently the editor for Emerging Markets research at J.P. Morgan

Jorge Paulo Lemann

Jorge Paulo Lemann

Jorge Paulo Lemann co-founded the investment banking firm Banco Garantia and helped grow it into one of Brazil’s most prestigious and innovative investment banks. Lemann and his partners then purchased a Brazilian brewery that became InBev, one of the world’s largest beverage producers.
