Andres Lalinde, MIA '12

 

Andres Lalinde

Andres Lalinde is a dual-degree candidate at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs and the Fundação Getulio Vargas in Brazil, concentrating in International Security Policy and International Management. Andres was born in Bogotá but was raised in Los Angeles, California. His previous professional experiences include a military career as an Army officer and as a consultant for the Departments of State and Defense, as well as the Drug Enforcement Administration. Most recently, Andres worked as an operations manager leading a territory for one of the nation’s largest suppliers of propane gas. At SIPA, Andres is actively involved with the military veterans group and hopes to expand his volunteer network. Upon graduation, Andres plans to join the State Department’s Foreign Service Program.

Jorge Paulo Lemann

Jorge Paulo Lemann co-founded the investment banking firm Banco Garantia and helped grow it into one of Brazil’s most prestigious and innovative investment banks. Lemann and his partners then purchased a Brazilian brewery that became InBev, one of the world’s largest beverage producers.
