Bruno Carneiro , MIA '13

 

Bruno Carneiro

Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Bruno grew up in an international environment, because of his immigrant grandparents and his father's job. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP), spending one semester abroad in Finland. In Brazil, he took a position at Unibanco Asset Management, where he focused on the fixed income and derivatives portfolio of domestic mutual funds. After graduating from USP, Bruno joined the International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank, where he combined his interests for finance and international development working with financial institutions in high developmental impact projects, such as small and medium enterprises banks, rural cooperatives, and microfinance organizations. Bruno has also volunteered as tutor at Junior Achievement in public schools of São Paulo. At Columbia, Bruno intends to focus his studies on international development and investing, and acquire the necessary skills to contribute to his country´s progress.

Jorge Paulo Lemann

Jorge Paulo Lemann co-founded the investment banking firm Banco Garantia and helped grow it into one of Brazil’s most prestigious and innovative investment banks. Lemann and his partners then purchased a Brazilian brewery that became InBev, one of the world’s largest beverage producers.
