Greg Snyder is a program associate at Columbia's Center for Conflict Resolution and currently works with the Genocide Prevention Program. Greg is a student at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Liberal Studies Master's program. He will obtain his M.A. in Human Rights Studies with a focus on conflict and genocide assessment and prevention in 2008. Greg is currently studying narrative strategies for conflict prevention and resolution with a particular interest in the nexus of political identity and ethnicity. Greg brings a considerable business background as the Cofounder and VP of Sales and Marketing for BackBeat Media since 1999, an interactive publishing and advertising network. Prior to his current position, he was the Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Mactell Corporation, a publicly traded company in the technology sector. Greg received a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Texas in Austin where he focused on indigenous autonomy movements in Latin America, during which time he worked as an advocate and researcher in both Chiapas, Mexico and the maquila zone of the Texas/Mexico border.
