Ms. Bridget Moix, Advisor, taught a course on war, peace, and religion at the School of International and Public Affairs and is now in Mexico City where she directs a peace program of the Society of Friends. She worked on international affairs issues and the peaceful prevention of deadly conflict as a lobbyist with the Friends Committee on National Legislation, a Quaker lobby in the public interest. Ms. Moix formerly worked with the Quaker United Nations Office in New York under a New Voices Fellowship, covering issues of conflict prevention, peace building, and alternatives to war. She also worked for two years with the World Policy Institute’s Arms Trade Resource Center, where she researched and wrote on U.S. arms transfers to Africa. Ms. Moix is a member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and in 2000 received a grant under the Clarence and Lily Pickett Quaker Leadership Fund with which she helped establish a Women Peacemakers support network and undertook independent research on the Quaker Peace Testimony and Friends peace work in the world. She received a Master of International Affairs degree from the School of International and Public Affairs, where she focused her studies on Human Security and International Conflict Resolution. Ms. Moix earned her undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University.
