Sigrid U. Gruener Sigrid U. Gruener is a professional trainer, researcher, adjunct professor and Fellow at Columbia University’s Center for International Conflict Resolution (CICR). Her primary areas of interest and expertise are in the areas of community development and peace-building, civil society capacity strengthening and conflict assessment. She has practical and training experience in this field working in Panama, Mexico, East Timor, Iraq and the U.S. with members of community groups, NGOs, local government and international development organizations. Ms. Gruener is also passionate about the relationship between economic and psychosocial support for communities, families and individual civilians who have been harmed by violence. Ms. Gruener teaches a graduate level seminar on conflict assessment at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and at NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies. In previous years Ms. Gruener worked in the corporate arena as an internal auditor and financial analyst for the William Wrigley Jr. Company in Chicago. Ms. Gruener holds a Master of International Affairs degree in Economic and Political Development from Columbia University’s School of International and Political Affairs. She received her undergraduate degree in International Studies and Economics from American University. |
