In “Religious Minorities at Risk,” Sudhir Venkatesh, William B. Ransford Professor of Sociology at Columbia University, joins with Nathaniel Deutsch, co-Director of the Center for Jewish Studies, to host a discussion on the relationship of risk and religion in New York City. The discussion will be preceded by a short film featuring members of the Muslim community of New York as they struggle to ensure their right to freedom of religious expression.

 The conference discussion will be much broader than the subject of the film, and will include some or all of the following:

 The Jews of New York City.

The Resettlement of Iraq’s Mandaean Community.

 The South Asian Muslim Community.
