Biography:
Tom Glaisyer works at the intersection of social media and domestic and international politics. Recently, he has focused his expertise on applying social networking thinking and technology to international affairs, particularly in the peace, security, and conflict resolution fields. Prior to this he worked in Washington DC supporting a broad cross section of foreign policy professionals in their adoption of social media and collaborative tools.

Prior to this work he spent 10 years working internationally as a technology and change management consultant in the private sector, where he focused on the implementation of multi-million dollar back office systems and the changes they generated in the workplace. He holds a BEng and BCom from the University of Birmingham in England, and an M.A. in International Relations from Columbia University. He is currently enrolled in the interdisciplinary Communications PhD Program at Columbia University. At Columbia is associated with the Center for International Conflict Resolution http://www.sipa.columbia.edu/cicr/ and the Center on Organizational Innovation, http://www.coi.columbia.edu/. He is also a member of the board of directors of Outward Bound Center for Peacebuilding http://www.outwardboundpeace.org.
