Biography:
Sharyn O'Halloran is a professor in the Department of Political Science and SIPA, Columbia University.

Her research interests include institutional analysis and statistical methods. Her recent publications include "Measuring the Electoral and Policy Impact of Majority-Minority Voting Districts" with David Epstein in American Journal of Political Science (April 1999); "A Social Science Approach to Race, Redistricting, and Representation" with David Epstein in American Political Science Review (March 1999); "The Non-Delegation Doctrine and Separate Powers: A Political Science Approach" with David Epstein in The Cardozo Law Review (1999); and others.

O'Halloran has received numerous grants and awards, including those from the Hoover Institution, Russell Sage Foundation, National Science Foundation, Carnegie Corporation, and Social Science Research Council.

Professor O'Halloran earned her BA in 1985 from University of California at San Diego. In 1991 she received her PhD from there. From 1990 to 1991 she completed a postdoctorate fellowship in the Public Policy Program at Stanford University.
