Shadan Azali

Biography:

Shadan Azali is the Associate Director of Corporate Relations at the Earth Institute, Columbia University, working closely with senior leadership, administration, and researchers. She leads corporate relations efforts by identifying and developing new corporate partnerships for the Earth Institute. In addition, Azali focuses principally on managing the Corporate Circle, the Earth Institute’s corporate engagement program consisting of about twenty or so members at any given time.

Before joining the Earth Institute, Azali worked in the corporate philanthropy sector for financial institutions. She previously consulted for C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, Bank of America, and managed the corporate giving program for GMAC Financial Services which is now, Ally Bank.

Azali has administered grant and sponsorship applications for over eighty New York City non-profits and provided over ten million dollars for strategic community investment throughout the east coast. She also established new partnerships for financial firms with various community groups working on affordable housing and financial literacy issues.

Azali was a recipient of several academic awards, including the Columbia University Environmental Fellowship, Mari Michener Co-op Scholarship, in addition to being a John Bowman International Scholar and a Horace Mann Scholar.  Azali received her Bachelors of Environmental Policy at Antioch College and her Master of Public Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
