Biography:
Michael Cervieri is an Adjunct Assistant Professor. Cervieri is also an adjunct professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where he teaches New Media Skills and serves as an advisor to students conducting New Media Masters Projects.

Cervieri is an Emmy Award-winning producer and co-founder of ScribeLabs, a new media strategy firm. ScribeLabs publishes ScribeMedia.org, which focuses on the business, technology and culture of digital media, and SMAC.us, a contemporary arts, architecture and design publication that was selected as an Official Honoree of the 2009 Webby Awards.

His work with ScribeLabs includes producing recurring Webisodes and podcasts, directing digital media content strategies and working with designers and software developers to create new and varied communications and content distribution platforms.

Previously, Cervieri worked for the Saudi Gazette, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he served as the paper's national editor. He was part of a core team charged with re-branding the paper and introducing international standards of reporting to Saudi journalists in light of the government's relaxation of publishing restrictions.

Cervieri holds an MA from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, and has reported from around the world on issues ranging from the Maoist insurrection in Nepal to post-Milosevic Yugoslavia.
