Biography:
Gerald Curtis (Ph.D., Columbia, 1968) is a specialist on politics in Japan and U.S.-East Asian relations, with particular research interests in parties, interest groups, state-society relations. Served as Director of the East Asian Institute for a total of twelve years between 1974 and 1990.
