Biography:
David Downie is Director of the Global Roundtable on Climate Change and Associate Director of Columbia's Graduate Program in Climate and Society. Dr. Downie's research focuses on the creation, content, and implementation of international environmental policy. He has taught courses in international environmental politics at Columbia since 1994, and served as Director of the Environmental Policy Studies program at the School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University, from 1994 to 1999.

Publications:

Dr. Downie is the author of numerous publications on international environmental politics. In addition to many articles, his most recent works include: Climate Change: A Reference Handbook (to be published in 2008); Global Environmental Politics, 4th Edition, with Pamela Chasek (2006; German and Japanese editions, 2007); The Global Environment: Institutions, Law and Policy, co-edited with Norman Vig and Regina Axelrod (2004); and Northern Lights Against POPs: Combating Toxic Threats in the Arctic, co-edited with Terry Fenge (2003).
