Biography:
Avi Schwartz is a senior manager in the Capital Projects Consulting Group of Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP. Avi has 15 years of experience working in the construction industry and advising owners of major capital construction projects. He routinely conducts management and financial controls assessments of significant capital projects with a goal of improving performance and mitigating strategic and operational risks. Avi has also developed and implemented financial and project controls, as well as policies and procedures for the design-procurement-construction process.
While serving a broad range of Fortune 500 companies in financial services, biotechnology and life sciences, Avi maintains a particular focus on public sector construction and organizations. For example, he has conducted cost studies for publically built and financed stadiums, transportation infrastructure and public universities and research centers. Avi has studied construction cost growth factors on behalf of major cities and states, and has advised several major states on the Federal Recovery Act of 2008 (economic stimulus) planning, monitoring and spending.
Prior to Deloitte, Avi worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers consulting in their engineering and construction practice and as a project engineer at Caretsky and Associates.
He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Binghamton University and an MBA in Operations Management from Baruch College.
