Habtamu Fuje

Habtamu Fuje
is a second-year student in the Sustainable Development PhD program. He aspires to undertake research in the broader area of development microeconomics, poverty-agriculture nexus and international trade.

Habtamu has worked in academic and research institutions.  Recently, he has undertaken research at Harvard University, where he designed and evaluated cost and benefits of implementing an integrated poverty reduction intervention; expanding secondary education; and provision of meals in schools in Rwandan.  Previously, he has worked at the World Bank and Addis Ababa University.  He researched on cross-border trade in professional services among South Eastern African counties; role of governance in explaining economic growth in Sub-Saharan Africa; and vulnerability of Ethiopian rural households to poverty.

Mr. Fuje holds MPA degree in International Development from Harvard University; M.Sc. and B.A. degrees in Economics from Addis Ababa University.
