SIPA MIA or MPA/Sciences Po MPA Dual Degree Program

Back to International Dual Degree Programs

Columbia University’s SIPA offers both MIA and MPA students the opportunity to study in Paris at Sciences Po MPA in the second year of study, whereupon graduation they will earn degrees from both SIPA and Sciences Po in the same amount of time it takes to earn one degree.

This program is ideal for those students interested in finishing their course of study in Paris, thus obtaining both an ivy league education as well as training from a preeminent academic institution based in Europe. Being physically based in Europe upon graduation will allow students to maximize their career opportunities in the region. The program is taught entirely in English, with optional French language modules in Paris.

In addition to the professional advantages of studying public policy in both Paris and New York, students will benefit from the diverse pedagogical traditions of studying in both the North American and the French and European educational context. The dual degree candidate will profit from the extensive resources available at Columbia in New York City, as well as the global reach of the combined alumni networks of both programs

The small and intimate nature of the Sciences Po MPA program, with about 90 students, offers a social and academic contrast and complementary experience, where students will better get to know fellow classmates and faculty.
