Course Evaluations

Electronic course evaluations are an important part of being a student at SIPA. Each semester when students are sent the evaluation forms for each of their registered courses some inevitably wonder, 'What happens to these forms? Is anyone reading these?' The answer is yes! This web page will explain more about the electronic evaluation process, who is reading them and what happens to the information you provide.

Students: How to Access Your Course Evaluations

Log into the Courseworks@columbia website with your UNI and password and under My Courses you will see all your courses past and present. To see past evaluations for classes in which you were enrolled, click the Evaluation button on the left under the course number. For current semester courses look to that same location once the close date of the evaluation has passed. To see evaluations for all past classes including those for which you were not enrolled, see the SIPA Course Evaluation Listings for Past Semesters page.

Faculty: How to Access Your Course Evaluations

Your course evaluations will only be visible once all faculty have submitted grades to the Registrar for the semester. To see the evaluations at that time, locate the Courseworks@columbia hot link on either the SIPA or main Columbia University websites and log in with your UNI and password.

Once in Courseworks, the courses for which you are listed as the instructor will appear on the left with a highlighted course number. Select the Evaluation button below the course number for the course number you wish to review. The evaluation result has two parts for faculty viewing, an upper statistical tables portion from the evaluation questions and below, a section of anonymous comments from your students.
