IMAC Alumni

Although the IMAC specialization has existed for more than 15 years, it had its growth spurt in program offerings and enrollment during the 1990s. Early in the decade the curriculum was expanded, the link with the journalism school was stabilized, and Slant magazine was launched as an outlet for student writing about international affairs. As a result of these changes, the IMAC enrollment grew from twenty students in 1990 to a planned leveling off at around seventy in 1997. As of 2001, there were approximately 175 IMAC graduates scattered across the globe in a loyal SIPA network. Consonant with career goals while in school, the majority is in media work, both print and electronic, and is divided almost evenly between the United States and overseas. Here is a sampling:
