THE ANDREW WELLINGTON CORDIER ESSAY CONTEST
Andrew Wellington Cordier became the dean of the School of International Affairs (as it was known then) in 1962 following a distinguished career at the United States Department of State and the United Nations. From 1969-1970, he served as President of the whole of Columbia University. The Cordier essay contest acknowledges and honors the contributions that President Cordier gave to the School of International and Public Affairs and the Columbia University community as a whole.
The Cordier Essay Contest is open to all currently enrolled Columbia University students. Essays should not exceed 4,000 words, must adhere to the upcoming issue topic, and need not be written particularly for the contest: papers submitted for academic credit or written under other circumstances are welcome and encouraged, provided they are sufficiently relevant. The Journal of International Affairs does not publish previously published work.
To submit an essay for consideration or to ask questions, please contact Matt Moore, Cordier Editor, at msm2173@columbia.edu.
